About Chablis – Chief Explorer

🌟 Hello World — I’m Chablis! Chief Explorer & Professional People-Lover 🐾

I have a big heart, and a tail that never stops asking questions. I’m a young adolescent pure bred pointer who loves people, puzzles, and the thrill of a good butterfly chase. I was rescued and I’m being fostered here in the UK by my wonderful Auntie Bea (also known as Auntie QBea) who’s teaching me all the best bits of life.

I didn’t have a fairytale start. I was overlooked because of my tiny overbite, a breeder in Italy didn’t think I looked perfect enough so I needed rescuing quickly (it just makes my smile extra-special!). But I wag, I wiggle, I give majestic cuddles, and I already know my best chapters are ahead. My brother Kim (Now called Rufus) came with me — he’s been adopted into a loving home, he is really lucky — and now I hope for the day that I will find  a family just like the one that he has.

💖 Personality & what makes me melt…

Total cuddle addict — I’m a full-time snuggle girl. Soft jumpers, fluffy blankets, lap time — yes please.
People-obsessed — I adore everyone I meet (grown-ups and calm young adults especially).
Playful brainiac — I’m clever and curious: I can always work out Auntie Bea’s treat balls in *less than 5* (I’m proud of that).
Explorer instincts — I love noses to boop, bushes to investigate, and the big outdoors to sniff.
Uniqueness — People fall in love with  me instantly as I am so sweet and a complete affectionardo.

🦋 Quirks, hobbies & party tricks…

Pointing Pro — I love to ‘point’ — it’s how I tell you I’ve found something interesting.
Butterfly Chaser — anything that flies is my movie: butterflies are my absolute favourite — beautiful wings = instant zoomies.
Recall rockstar (for cheese) — my recall work is going well. Come on, say “cheese!” and I’m back in a flash.
Treat connoisseur — I love completely natural treats. Auntie Bea can give you her special list of my favourites.
Crate calm-down — after a big run or play I need gentle encouragement to have some downtime in my happy, safe crate so I can decompress and sleep. Crate = cozy recharge station.

🏡 Home life & abilities

Housetrained — I was a quick learner!
Stairs & patio doors — no problem at all; I navigate them confidently.
Great with other dogs — I get on fabulously with my four-legged pals, need to play with other pups, a fellow pointer or similar breed would gain you extra ‘points’… te he … see what I did there!
Not a fan of fast-moving things — bikes and pushchairs make me nervous because I’m not used to them yet; they can be scary and a bit overwhelming.
Loud noises — sudden, loud noises make me jump. A calm, patient environment really helps me feel safe.

🎯 What I need in my forever home

I’m sweet, loyal and brilliant — but I need the right kind of love to shine:

A quieter home with calm, patient young adults rather than young children.
People who are home a lot — I do best with a family who works from home or is around to give me love, training time, and company.
Positive reinforcement training — I learn best with praise, treats (natural, please), and gentle encouragement.
Patience around busy streets — because I’m nervous of bikes/pushchairs, I need slow, steady introductions and supportive handlers.
Brain games & enrichment — I thrive with puzzle toys, treat balls (I’ll show you how fast I solve them!), and scent work to keep my clever brain happy.
Crate routine — someone who will encourage calm crate downtime after exercise so I can rest and reset.

📜 My backstory (short & honest)

I was born somewhere where only “perfect” looks mattered. Because of my little overbite, people decided I wasn’t perfect enough to sell or show. That was tough — I didn’t understand why my hugs and wiggles weren’t enough. But rescue stepped in, and now I know there are people out there who will choose me for exactly who I am.

My brother Rufus found his forever home — he’s loving life — and I’m over here practicing my best recall and polishing my snuggle skills while I wait for my own happily-ever-after.

❤️ How I’ll love you

I’ll be your shadow, your puzzle partner, your soft-blanket connoisseur, and your loyal best pal. I’ll point out the butterflies, bring you a sock (maybe or other random objects that I think you will find useful), and thank you with the world’s sweetest, slightly goofy smile. I’ve got so much love packed into this wagging tail and would bloom in a safe, calm home that’s ready to teach me, be patient with me, cuddle me, and let me prove how wonderful I am.

If you’re looking for a clever, cuddly, slightly dramatic (but totally lovable) girl who will adore you forever — I might be your Chablis.
