This agreement outlines the responsibilities and expectations of both the Foster Carer and Pointer Rescue Service (PRS) in relation to the fostering of a dog under the care of PRS.
The dog remains the legal property of Pointer Rescue Service (PRS) at all times. The dog must wear a collar with the PRS-provided identification tag at all times.
Should the dog need to be relocated for any reason (e.g., holidays, kenneling, or other temporary arrangements), PRS must be informed in advance. Written approval must be obtained, along with full details of the new location and duration of the stay.
In the unfortunate event that the dog becomes lost or is suspected to be stolen, the Foster Carer must notify PRS immediately so appropriate action can be taken to recover the dog.
Ongoing, regular communication between the Foster Carer and PRS is essential. The Foster Carer agrees to provide updates on the dog’s well-being and any prospective adoption interest. PRS remains available to provide support and guidance at all times.
PRS advocates for and supports only positive, reward-based training methods. Should the Foster Carer require training support or advice, they must contact PRS directly.
If the dog becomes ill or requires veterinary attention, PRS must be notified prior to the appointment. In emergency situations, the Foster Carer should take immediate action to ensure the dog receives necessary care and must inform PRS as soon as possible thereafter.
PRS will cover all reasonable expenses incurred in the care of the dog, including veterinary fees (excluding minor treatments such as routine flea, tick, and worming unless previously agreed and required).
If the dog causes damage to the Foster Carer's property, and reasonable efforts were made to prevent such damage, PRS will reimburse the cost of repairs or replacements.
All rehoming procedures must be carried out under the supervision and approval of PRS. Home checks and adopter vetting will be arranged solely by PRS.
If the Foster Carer wishes to adopt the dog in their care, they must notify PRS as soon as possible. Adoption may only proceed if the dog has not already been reserved or promised to another prospective adopter.
All adoption forms and donations must be forwarded to PRS within seven (7) days of receipt.
PRS can only accept foster volunteers who agree to foster exclusively for Pointer Rescue Service during their time as an active PRS foster carer.
I, the undersigned, confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined in this Foster Agreement.
