High Value Pilchard Training Treats

Posted on, April 25, 2017

This is a wonderfully tasty and simple dog treat recipe, that one of the ladies at training class gave us and it doesn’t make too much washing up! Very high value so great to use for recall. Cut it small and ‘jackpot’ feed; so a handful for a good recall. Or scatter feed around your feet to keep them close and busy, then release them to run again.

REMEMBER, pay well for the behaviour you want.

1 lrg tin pilchards in tomato sauce
1 cup rice flour
1 egg

Heat oven to 180 degrees C.
Line a shallow baking tin with foil.

Empty ingredients into mixer and whizz together.
Spread into tin and bake for 20mins.
Cut up in tin and bake for a further 15mins.
Bake a third time if you wish.
Cool and store in the fridge or I make up a double batch and freeze some.

Use it warm for an even better reaction!
