Ethos Dog | Argos, Peloponnese

The Pointer Rescue Service is proud to partner with Liz, an ethical dog trainer and behaviour specialist whose work is making a tangible difference to the lives of rescue and free-living dogs in Greece and beyond. With a rare combination of hands-on rescue experience, scientific understanding, and deep compassion, Liz brings both practical skill and thoughtful insight to every aspect of her work.

British-Australian by background, Liz has lived and worked in Greece for the past five years, where she runs her registered business, Ethos Dog, based in Argos in the Peloponnese. She is a certified ethical dog trainer through the Nordic Education Centre for Ethical Dog Training and specialises in working with shelter dogs, street dogs, and recently adopted dogs adjusting to life abroad. Her experience spans the full rescue journey: responding to dogs in need on the street, rehabilitation and socialisation, ethical training and enrichment, carefully matching dogs with adopters, and supporting successful adoptions across multiple countries.

Liz is also an accredited canine postural analyst with Galen Myotherapy, enabling her to identify how pain, physical imbalance, or stress may be influencing a dog’s behaviour and overall wellbeing. She continues to study widely in canine behaviour, with particular focus on communication, fear, pain, adolescence, and aggression—ensuring her methods remain informed, ethical, and evidence-based.

Beyond individual dogs, Liz is deeply committed to systemic change. She runs the ‘Care for Community Animals’ programme, which promotes and demonstrates ethical care for free-living dogs within Greek communities, helping to reduce suffering through education rather than punishment or neglect. This work aligns closely with our shared aim of addressing the root causes of welfare issues, not just the symptoms.

We are thrilled that Liz has agreed to offer a new video call support service for Pointer Rescue Service adopters, providing professional, practical advice as an additional layer of post-adoption support. Her guidance will help adopters better understand their dogs, navigate challenges with confidence, and build secure, lasting relationships.

Liz’s philosophy is simple yet powerful:
Every dog deserves a safe and happy life—whether in a home, in a shelter, or on the street—and together, we can make that possible.
