Since 1973, the Trustees of the Pointer Rescue Service have been working tirelessly to help our beloved English Pointers and all pointer breeds and cross pointer breeds — and thanks to your support by joining our Friendship Scheme, we’re able to keep doing what we love. We’re so excited to have you as part of our extended Pointer family!
As a token of our gratitude, you’ll receive our pawsome monthly newsletter and a free yearly PRS calendar — featuring the gorgeous faces and info of our adopted rescue Pointers from all over the UK.
We’d love you to be part of the fun — share your best stories, photos, advice, or even a silly Pointer moment. Whether it’s a rescue transformation tale (see what we did there!) or a pointer who thinks they’re a lapdog (aren’t they all?), your contributions help us bring the Pointer-loving community closer together.
Our goal? To build a circle of friendship among people who adore this noble breed — and to get more folks involved in the work and mission of PRS. We’re always sniffing out new volunteers too, and our new venture this year is to collect your best submissions to create a heartwarming eBook full of memorable rescue dog stories.

We’ve launched our Friendship Scheme to make fundraising a little more magical ✨ and a lot more reliable — helping us stay focused on what really matters: giving every Pointer the loving life they deserve. This scheme helps us create steady support for our rescue work.
That said, we still adore creative fundraisers — so bring on the sponsored walks, fabulous fete stalls, or tail-wagging dog shows!
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Our AGM happens once a year during the sunny summer months 🌞🌿 — a chance for Trustees, Volunteers, and our amazing Working Committee to come together and share the joys (and sometimes the challenges) of rehoming Pointers. It’s also where we dream big and plan our next steps toward creating a dedicated Pointer Sanctuary.
New Adopters = New Pawsome Pointer Power Friends!
Every family who adopts one of our beloved rescue Pointers automatically becomes a “Friend” for the first year . And don’t worry — the support doesn’t stop there! Your rescue dog will always be part of our family and cared for by the charity for life. Unbelievably Pawsome right?
