Hi there, lovely hoomans!

My name is Romeo, my original name was Dumbo after the Disney character because of my cute ears—and yes, I live up to my name! I’m a certified charmer, a true sweetheart, and a big ol’ bundle of love. I’m five years young, and though my life started in sunny Spain, I’m now living in the UK with my wonderful foster mum, Nicky and her lovely pack of doggies while I wait for my forever family—maybe that’s you?

I’ve had a bit of a ruff (see what I did there?) start.  When terrible floods hit Spain, my family abandoned me, leaving me frightened and alone at the very moment I needed them most. It broke my heart and left a scar that explains why I find it so hard to be left on my own now. But don’t worry—a team of real-life heroes swooped in and rescued me, and now I’m getting the second chance I’ve always dreamed of.  But its important that my future family can help me through this…

Living with my foster mum has taught me so much. I sleep soundly in my cosy dog bed tucked right beside her at night, and I’ve discovered I absolutely adore being close to my special person. Because I’ve been starved of affection for so long, I can get a little jealous if the other dogs try to muscle in on my cuddle time—can you blame me? I’m just so eager to soak up every bit of love that comes my way you see.

I’m not a fan of being left on my own and it makes me feel very insecure—it’s something that will need to be built up slowly and patiently. I can settle nicely in a crate with a comfy cushion (my foster mum leaves the door open so I can go in and out as I please), and that’s helped me feel a little more secure when she’s busy as she works from home. Deep down, even though I seem calm, I carry anxiety from all I’ve been through. I’m really hoping to find someone patient and understanding who can help me feel truly safe and loved.

I’m also a bit of an adventurer at heart! I’m very clever when it comes to finding ways under fences or squeezing through tiny gaps to go exploring—so I’ll need a very secure garden to keep my curious paws out of mischief.

Despite everything, I’m still a glass-half-full kinda guy. I’m all about second chances, belly rubs, and unconditional love. I get along well with other doggies (even if I sometimes want all the snuggles for myself!) and would absolutely love a home where someone understands that my trust and confidence will grow with time, patience, and lots of kindness.

I’m not asking for much—just a hooman (or a whole family of them!) who’ll show me the love and security I’ve always dreamed of. In return, I’ll be your most loyal cuddle buddy, your adventure partner, your best listener, and your biggest fan.
