Hi, I’m Chandler. I might not be the loudest chap in the room, but I promise, the quietest hearts often hold the most love.

May I have a quiet word with you? I’m a little shy at first, but I think you should know the most important thing about me: I have a lifetime of unwavering loyalty stored up, just waiting for the right person to share it with.

I’m a two-year-old pointer hound mix who has the sweetest, soulful eyes you’ve ever seen. My world began in a difficult place, rescued as a tiny puppy from a rubbish tip. I lost my mother and one sibling far too soon, but my heart, though it carries a quiet memory, is now simply a little engine powered by pure love. I carry the ghost of my past with a hint of gentle shyness, but beneath that initial hesitation is a heart ready to absolutely soar.

The kind people at Merlins Haven call me Gentle, Quiet, and Loving. They’ve watched me blossom—my playful side, once hidden, now peeks out in a soft nudge or a clumsy, wiggle of sheer delight. My favourite thing in the world is to be near the people I love, and I get on well with other dogs. I watched my brothers and sisters leave one by one for their forever homes, and now I pray every day that my turn will finally come.

The volunteers are immensely proud of how far I’ve come. They know that in a real home, surrounded by consistent kindness, I’ll truly flourish. They say I’m a medium-sized promise of devotion, and they feel I’d be wonderful living with children!

I’m a quiet thinker. I’m affectionate. I’m loyal. I’ve been reliably informed that the UK has some of the kindest people (and warmest fireplaces!) in the world. I’m ready to turn the page on my past and start that beautiful new chapter with a family who needs a little lovebug like me. Do you have a comfy armchair for a new friend?
