Hi, my name is Thelma… and this is my story. 🤍

I’m approximately 3 years young (October 2025), and I’m a beautiful, large girl at about 30 kg. The volunteers found me in a government shelter in central Turkey in the summer of 2025. That area is a tough place for a stray dog, with very little hope for a rescue. I was one of the lucky ones – an abandoned hunting dog, left behind when I was no longer needed.

I doubt I ever received real love or affection in my past, but despite that rough start, I’m a very social dog who absolutely adores people. I am so grateful to finally be safe!

My Trademark Look (The Moustache Diva) 🤩
I am a calm, stable, and easygoing lady, but the first thing you’ll notice about me is my beautiful, white shaggy moustache! It adds a touch of sophistication and fun to my gorgeous face. I promise you’ll want to gently stroke it while we watch a movie together.

I have a wonderful, stable character and I’m not demanding or pushy. I greet everyone – familiar faces and strangers alike – with enthusiasm and a happy wagging tail. Sometimes I get so excited that I might jump up to say a quick hello, but I’m gentle about it. I’m not a hyper girl, but a calm, mature lady with endless love to give.

Sweetheart Alert: I adore standing by your side, quietly soaking up some gentle pats. I can be a tiny bit jealous if someone else tries to steal the spotlight, because when I have your focus, I treasure that moment dearly!

A Woman of Routine 🐾 (And Her Peaceful Plate)

The chaos of the shelter doesn’t bother me much. I’m a very calm girl who happily goes about her own business. I get along well with the other dogs and enjoy a good play session, but I’m also perfectly happy to entertain myself.

Foodie Fun: When it comes to mealtime, I’m a gourmet who prefers to dine solo. I’m not keen on sharing and would much rather enjoy my meal in peace, without any other dogs hovering around. I need an appreciative audience, not competition!

While I am calm and stable in the shelter, put me out on a walk, and my inner hunter is instantly switched ON! My nose hits the ground, and I’m completely absorbed in a world of fascinating scents. I’m on a scent mission, and everything else – even my beloved human – momentarily disappears! Scents come first!

I’m completely unphased by traffic, crowds, or loud noises, but anything that moves is captivating. Sometimes my enthusiasm leads me to pull a little on the lead, so my ideal adopter will enjoy gentle training to help me balance my curiosity with my focus on them. You’re supposed to walk the dog, not the other way around, after all!

My Dream Home 🏡
I don’t demand much, but I promise to give so much love in return. I am expected to be a calm, easygoing, and affectionate companion in a home. I am a stable companion who is a dream at the vet (I walk in confidently and patiently wait my turn!).
