❤️ Daphne: The Pointer x Spaniel Waiting for Her ‘Happy Ever After’

Hi, my name is Daphne, and I am a beautiful Pointer x Spaniel girl who just turned 9 months old. I’m writing this in the hope that I finally find the furever home where I can put down roots and feel safe.

After three confusing moves, all I need now is one stable family.

💔 My Story So Far…

My short life has been a whirlwind of changes. From Ireland to Wales, and through three different homes in just a few months, I’ve had three different names!

It breaks my heart that I haven’t settled yet, but here is the important part: my previous moves were purely down to my adopters’ misfortunes, not anything I did wrong.

* The first family had complex health issues and couldn’t keep me🥲

* The second home didn’t work out with their existing nine-year-old dog.  They weren’t keen on me. I so badly wanted to just be friends. 

* The third family loved me dearly and said I was “settling in well,” but unfortunately, their caregiving responsibilities for a parent suddenly became too demanding. In fact, my last owner is regularly in touch with Pointer Rescue because she is so concerned about making sure I get the loving home I deserve.

Because of these constant, unexpected changes, I have lacked the stability and consistency I need to truly bond and feel secure. I promise that deep down, I am a loving, affectionate, and friendly girl who is just desperate for consistency and a chance to bond.

✨ The Real Me: A Bouncy Bundle of Joy

I am a smart, sociable, and gorgeous. I’m

medium sized, currently weighing in at 14.6kg.

* Affectionate & Friendly: My previous family described me as a “lovely, friendly, and affectionate girl.” I adore meeting new people. I will reward you with endless love and devotion!

* Super Smart: I am a clever mix of high-energy Pointer and Spaniel, and I’m very responsive to training! I already know how to Sit and am housetrained. 

* Active & Enthusiastic: I’m a little whirlwind who loves to run and play! I need an active life where I can stretch my legs. I was getting so much better on my lead with a good harness, and I love running free in secure areas like dog meadows.

🏡 What I Need to Thrive Because of my confusing start, I have developed a few specific needs that my new family needs to understand:

* Stability & Consistency: More than anything, I need a home with structure and routine where I can finally let down my guard and feel safe.

* An active, rescue dog savy owner: I am strong and need someone who can keep up with my enthusiasm. My breed mix means I need a good amount of mental and physical stimulation.

* An Only Dog Home: I would prefer to be the only dog so I can have all your focus and attention while I settle in.  I can live with other dogs but it needs to be the right fit … 

* No cats, please! I get a little too excited around cats, so a cat-free home is a must.

* Older Children: My bouncy enthusiasm is best suited for a home with children aged 14 and over.

* A Secure Garden: I desperately need a large, secure, enclosed garden where I can safely zoom to my heart’s content.

🚗 A Little Challenge I need to be completely honest: I find car travel very scary. I drool, and I get upset, but I am getting better. My last family found that covering the windows helped, and a covered crate might be the ultimate solution. Because of this, I need a home where my active life doesn’t depend on frequent, long car journeys. A quiet home where I’ll feel safe and not overwhelmed, preferably in the South of the UK, would be a huge advantage!  With love and patience I can learn to travel…

I haven’t been failed; I’ve just been unlucky. Now, I need my chance.
