Hi, my name is Ella… and this is my story.
I was once known as number 40, a timid survivor of the Toledo perrera. I was rescued by Galgos del Sol, and that’s when my new life began. I don’t know my past, but the volunteers believe I’m about three and a half years old. Given my age and past, it’s possible I was used for breeding and then, perhaps, simply discarded when no longer needed. My world was a noisy, dark box, but luckily, I had my best friend, Olive, by my side. We were each other’s rock inside that awful place, just sitting and hoping and praying every day that we would be saved. We were next door to Butler and Louie, just a number away.
A Pointer in Disguise?
While I’m not strictly a Pointer, I have that very cute, Pointer-like nose that you’ll just want to plant a big kiss on! Underneath my fluffier coat, the volunteers suspect there’s a Pointer in disguise. At 22 kg, I’m a smaller girl, and I’m ready for my happy-ever-after forever home, just like Olive, Butler, and Louie.
Encouraging Steps Forward 🐾
When I first arrived, I was completely overwhelmed and hesitant after everything I’d been through. All this wonderful kindness from humans felt strange, and I wasn’t sure if it was genuine. But I’m now taking encouraging steps in the right direction! I’m building confidence and learning to accept the good things around me. Instead of cowering, I now run to meet our volunteers, my tail wagging, happy to go out for a walk and enjoy some gentle affection. I am truly beginning to shine and show everyone my kind soul.
My Heart Needs Time to Heal 🌸
I’ve been working so hard to trust, and I deserve a secure, loving forever home where I can finally put my paws up, settle in, and feel safe.
🦮 Lead Walking: I love going out walking regularly with the volunteers at Noah’s Arc. With gentle encouragement and training, I know I will continue to respond, learn and grow.
🐶Other Dogs: I can be a little reactive around other dogs because I’m quite nervous and fearful. I was very comfortable sharing with my furiend Olive, who was my support in that hellish perrera. I think being separated from her initially made me anxious. A very careful and gentle introduction will be necessary if I am to be homed with another dog – perhaps an easygoing, calm female like Olive would suit me perfectly and help build my confidence.
👶Children: As I am a little anxious, I’d be best suited to a family with adult children, so no young children please.
What I Need to Be Happy
My dream is a calm, patient family who understands that big changes take a little time. I need someone who can help me overcome my fears and build trust in the big wide world that is still very alien to me. With the right home, I’ll no doubt come on leaps and bounds.
While I’m getting the best care at Noah’s shelter, it’s not the right environment for a little anxious sweetheart like me.
So what do you say? Ready to boop my snoot😍
Love Ella x
