Hi, my name is Ella… and this is my story.
I was once known as “Number 40,” a timid survivor of the Toledo perrera. I don’t know much about my past, but the volunteers believe I’m about three and a half years old. Given my history, it’s likely I was used for breeding and discarded when I was no longer needed. My world was once a noisy, dark box, where I sat with my best friend Olive, praying we would be saved.
Luckily, we were. My new life began with Galgos del Sol, and I have been moving toward the sunshine ever since.
Finding My Feet at Noah’s Arc 🐾
When I first arrived at the Noah’s shelter, I was completely overwhelmed. All this kindness from humans felt strange, and I wasn’t sure if it was genuine. But the volunteers there didn’t give up on me.
During my time at Noah’s, I took my first brave steps forward. I went from cowering in the back of my kennel to running to meet the volunteers with a wagging tail. They taught me that the world wasn’t so scary, helping me build the confidence to enjoy gentle affection and learn the basics of lead walking. It was at Noah’s that I truly began to shine and show everyone my kind, resilient soul.
A “Pointer in Disguise” & A Social Butterfly 🦋
While I’m not strictly a Pointer, I have a very cute, Pointer-like nose and a fluffy coat that hides a lean, 22kg “Pointer in disguise” frame. Thanks to the foundation I built at the shelter, I’ve recently discovered I’m a bit of a star!
I recently made the big trip from Spain to the UK. While I found a sofa there, my owner’s health issues mean I am looking for my true forever home. The good news? I am now “house-trained” and ready to go! Before leaving Spain, I went on “sleepovers” with volunteers Jackie and David, where I passed with flying colors:
* The Social Life: I’ve stayed with other dogs and handled myself well. I can be a little “bossy” sometimes, but I listen beautifully to a calm, firm “no.”
* Out and About: I’ve played on beaches and sat quietly in cafes. I might be a tiny bit nervous entering a new building, but with a little encouragement, I settle right in.
* Travel Pro: I am a perfect passenger in the car or a van. Once I feel safe, I’m as quiet as a mouse.
My Wonderful Quirks (The Elvis Special!) 🎸
Now that I’m feeling confident, my true personality is shining through. I have two signature moves:
* The Elvis Smile: When I’m happy to see you, I do a little “lip curl” smile. Don’t be fooled – it’s not a grumble, it’s my way of showing pure joy!
* The Water Waiter: If I’m thirsty, I’ll nudge my bowl around to give you a polite hint. A girl needs her hydration!
Life in the Home
* The Lead: I love my walks! I am generally very good, though I might pull a little if I catch a delicious scent or see a new doggy friend.
* Cats: I’ve met them and, honestly? I give them a wide berth. They are a bit too mysterious for me! 🐱
* Family Life: I’ve realised I love the happy sounds of children. When I was in Spain I met a little girl on my walk and stood beautifully for some fuss. I’m friendly with everyone and live for a belly rub.
What I Need to Be Happy 🌸
I have done the hard work. I have traveled the miles, learned how to be a “house dog,” and discovered that sofas are magnificent (even if the British rain is a bit of a shock!).
I am a friendly, curious soul who just needs a family who won’t give up on me when life gets a little rainy. I need a patient home that understands big changes take time, but who will be rewarded with my “Elvis smile” every single morning.
So what do you say? Ready to boop my snoot and share your sofa?
Love,
Ella x
