Hello hooman, my name is Jasper

I’m an approximately 6 year old Pointer cross with a Spanish accent -I’m a rescue from near Murcia and I’ve been loving life in the UK with my family for over four years now.

I’m told I’m a lovely boy, and it’s true -I absolutely adore humans! When I first meet you, I get a little bouncy, I can’t help it! I’m just so excited to say hello. But once I’ve had my initial burst of energy, I settle down and am a very calm, sweet, and friendly companion.

I’m a real Velcro dog and form a strong bond, especially with the women who are my main carers. I want to be wherever you are – I’m ready to be your loyal shadow!

I’m a nose down kind of guy on walks.  That Pointer nose of mine is fantastic, and I love following all the exciting smells. I walk well on a lead, and I don’t pull unless I spot some exciting prey. My recall is generally good, but if there’s a squirrel or a rabbit nearby, well, my hunting instincts take over – I am a pointer cross after all!

I’ve been going to a doggy daycare for years now, with over 20 dogs, and I get on very well with all of them, so I love other dogs in that setting. Sometimes on walks, I can get a little anxious and frightened and I try to pretend I’m fearless with a little Elvis lip here and there! but I’m truly a big softie. I’ve always been a safe and loving companion to my family, and my gentle nature is what they will really miss about me the most.

I need a home that understands I have some behavioural needs. I can struggle with separation anxiety (I really miss my people when they’re gone! ). Life has been a bit overwhelming recently, with the recent arrival of a little baby and my family now believes it’s best for me to find a quieter, more stable environment where I can get the training and attention I need to thrive.

What I Need in a Home

Regarding little hoomans: I am a gentle soul, but I’ve learned that a quiet home is best for me. I am used to giving children a wide berth, and I’m happy to do that, but I’d really thrive in a home with older, considerate children who respect my space, or an adult only home. I need a peaceful place where I can truly relax.

Oh, and there’s one more thing: I have a condition called Leishmaniasis. I know that for some people, hearing the word ‘Leish’ is a game-changer and they dismiss me as a possibility. Please don’t overlook me because of this!  I was treated last year and my most recent blood test (August 2025) shows that I am still in remission, in good health, and don’t currently need medication. I’ve heard that many, many doggies have lived perfectly normal, long lives without any repeat episodes, and my vets are really happy with my progress! The little angels would also pay for all my medication for my lifetime if I ever needed to start medication in my future again… how fab is that hey!

I am ready to bring so much love and loyalty into your home. I promise to be your best friend and your shadow. I am Jasper – and I’m waiting for the pawfect person to help me feel safe, calm, and happy for the rest of my days.

All my love n wag,

Jasper x
