💔 Meet Bravo — The boy with a big heart that’s a bit cheeky…

“Hello, world. I’m Bravo… ”

I was born under the warm Greek sun on the island of Santorini — beautiful, yes, but my start in life was anything but. I was abandoned, treated badly, and left to fend for myself until I was rescued by two angels, Christina and Dave, who run the SAWA shelter. Then the ground began to shake — literally. The volcano rumbled, our shelter trembled, and our world fell apart. You can read more about it here: https://www.sawasantorini.com.

But I was one of the lucky ones. With the help of kind-hearted people and rescuers, I made the long journey from Santorini to Rhodes — safe at last, with hope in my heart.  I was evacuated to a sanctuary in Rhodes urgently that PRS partner with.   Two of my friends Foxtrot and Brava were also evacuated with me and they found homes here in the UK.

That’s where I met him.
Michael.

He chose me. He adopted me.
For the first time in my life, I belonged. Every night, we snuggled up on his bed, resting my head where his hand could reach me. I listened to his voice, his laughter, his heartbeat — my world was calm. I thought, “This is it. This is home.”  Micheal put up with my faults… I jump up and I counter surf… I just need some guidance … 

But then… Michael got sick. He went into hospital.
And he never came back.

I was then taken to kennels, which was really scary and cold.  I didn’t understand. I looked for him in every sound, every shadow. I used to sleep peacefully with him; but I was so sad there that I couldn’t settle.

I had lost my home, my hooman, my sense of safety — all over again.

But I still believe there’s another chapter for me. I’m not ready to give up.  Nat my first foster Mum came and rescued me and gave me a home for a while and helped me and really loved me!  Nat has a special place in  my heart furever.  She even has a parrot!  Yep I was so good!  Nat taught me a lot in the short time I was with her and she gave the best kind cuddles too.  Sadly Nat got poorly so together with PRS they arranged for me to be fostered with the very special Ceryl which is where I am now and she gives me so much love and attention… I am kinda hoping this could be it for me as I am falling in love with my new canine pack at Cheryls and to make sure she’s ok too I tend to follow my new foster Mum everywhere!   She neeeeeeeeeds me.  My new best friend is Cheryls grandson!

• I’m Bravo — a big, strong German Shorthaired Pointer with muscles for days and a heart that just wants to love and be loved.
• I’m loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to my hooman once I trust you.
• I adore cuddles and sofa snuggles. I’m happiest when I can fall asleep knowing someone’s beside me.
• I get along with other dogs, though truthfully, I would be better with a female GSP or female companion.  I used to sleep and play with Brava who was also adopted in the UK and we sunbathed back in Rhodes and used to play together!
• 🏡 My Perfect Home

• Someone experienced with pointers (GSPs especially) who understands our big hearts and bigger energy and that we love being velcro pups.
• An active home — walks, adventures, sniffing the world again would bring me back to life.
• Adults or older children who can give me calm, love, and routine.
• Most of all, I need someone patient and kind. Someone who’ll let me learn to trust again… someone who’ll promise not to leave.

I’ve been brave before — I survived a volcano. I have survived a lot of heartbreak too.

I am such a lovable rescue boy that just wants to belong… 🐾
