❤️ Hi, my name is Murphy… and this is my story.
For ten wonderful years, I thought I had it all figured out. I’ve been with my family since I was just an eight-week-old ball of fluff. For most of my life, I was the ultimate working partner. Every single morning, I’d hop into my dad’s truck at dawn, spend the whole day by his side on-site, running free, and keeping him company. In the evenings, we’d go for long, glorious hours of off-lead walks. I had a purpose, tons of exercise, and a strict, active routine that kept my Pointer brain and body completely satisfied.
But earlier this year, everything changed.
My family moved house, and my dad’s job moved into a busy office. Suddenly, the truck rides stopped. The site visits stopped. The big, long adventures dwindled because life got so busy for my humans with renovations and the kids’ schedules. Instead of being out and about, I found myself spending my days staring at the kitchen walls.
Because I’m a proud, athletic German Shorthaired Pointer, I didn’t know what to do with all this leftover energy. I started begging for someone to notice that I was bored and raring to go. It might look like I’m anxious, but the truth is much simpler: I’m just an active dog who is currently a bit lost and desperately needs a job and a walk again.
My Absolute Superpowers:
- The Perfect Walking Companion: My current owners have trained me impeccably. I walk beautifully to heel on a slip lead, and my off-lead recall is absolutely perfect. I will come flying right back to you the moment you call.
- A Total Ball Fanatic: Want to make me the happiest boy alive? Just bring a tennis ball. I will happily fetch for as long as your arm can throw it!
- A Chilled House Guest: Once I’ve had a proper walk to burn off my energy, I am completely content to settle down nicely on my bed in the kitchen. I am fully house-trained and not destructive at all.
My Perfect Match:
Don’t let the number 10 fool you. I am a Pointer through and through, and I am not ready to retire to the sofa just yet. I am looking for an active, experienced home with people who understand and love working breeds. My dream scenario is a loving home with active walking people who are retired or work from home, meaning I can get all the exercise, companionship, and outdoor adventures I thrive on.
Lastly, like many dogs, the vets isn’t my favourite place in the world and I find it quite stressful, so my new family will just need to be patient and understanding with me when it’s time for check-ups.
I have spent a decade being a loyal, loving boy, and I have so much love left to give. I just want to find a special person who can give me back the active, outdoor lifestyle I miss so dearly. If you have a whistle, a tennis ball, and a big heart, I’m ready to be your ultimate adventure buddy.
Love n Wags… MURPHY 😘

A Little Note on My Health & Care:
Because I haven’t been getting out as much lately, I’ve lost a little bit of weight and my ribs are showing a tiny bit. A good, steady routine and plenty of TLC will help me build my muscles right back up! I will also need a full vet check-up when I move to my new home, including a blood test, getting my vaccinations up to date, and having a small, benign-looking lump on my chest bone investigated just to be on the safe side.
