Olive

Hi, my name is Olive… and this is my story.

Once upon a time, I wasn’t Olive. I was just number 40.
No one called me by name but the thing is I knew I deserved one. No one stroked my ears or whispered that I was a good girl. I don’t remember much of my past — I’m only about 3 years old — but I think I had a couple of litters. Maybe that’s why I was cast aside… maybe someone decided I wasn’t useful anymore.

I ended up in a place called a perrera — a cold, noisy box where hope seemed to vanish. But I wasn’t alone. My best friend, Ella, was right there beside me. We kept each other going, waiting and wishing that one day, someone would come for us. Next door were Butler and Louie — numbers 39 and 41. We were all just numbers, lined up and waiting.

And then… everything changed.

A group of angels on earth — Galgos del Sol — came to rescue us. The pound was shutting down, and things were looking desperate, but they pulled off a miracle with the help of a few other charities and volunteers. Galgos de Sol worked tirelessly to save us all.  Every single one of us!  That’s how Pointer Rescue and NoahsArc stepped in, offering us a safe haven.

And oh, what a haven it is! My kennel at NoahsArc feels like paradise. There’s light. There are soft beds and rugs. And, best of all, there are kind hoomans ( they REALLY EXIST!) who show me that not all people are scary. I get cuddles, gentle words, and tasty treats. I go on lead walks (okay, I’m a bit strong, but I’m learning!) and I even get to run free sometimes, ears flapping, heart soaring. For the first time, I’m not invisible. I’m Olive. I’m loved.

I’m a smaller English Pointer cross, weighing about 22 kg — just the right size for snuggles on the sofa (hint, hint). Everyone says I’m gentle, sweet-natured, and a total volunteer favourite.

Now, I’m ready for the next part of my story. I dream of a forever family who will see me not as number 40, not as a discarded dog, but as Olive — the girl with the wagging tail and the big, gentle heart. I promise to give back every ounce of love you give me… and maybe sneak onto your lap even if I’m “technically” not a lapdog.
