🐾 I’m Sammy: The Gentle, Big-Hearted Companion!

Hello there! My name is Sammy, and I’m about 2 years old. I’ve been through a terrible time recently, I was taken from the place that I trusted that has been my home since I was just ten weeks old and thrown into a Turkish government pound.  After a call was put out to get me out and rescue me, I was saved just in time and  some other dogs sadly didn’t make it.  It was so scary and I was found shaking in an overcrowded corner.  Thankfully, I’m now safe and am ready to put my best paw forward to find my furever home and thanks to a lot of good people pulling together I am safe! I’m a very gentle soul with a huge capacity for love, and I promise to be the most wonderful, thoughtful member of your family.

A True Hidden Gem

I’m what you might call an absolute gem when it comes to living with others. I’m already showing everyone that I’m a kind, easy-going boy who just wants peace and company.

• Kid and Cat-Approved: You heard that right! I’m great around children and cats, showing a calm and gentle demeanor. I have ben through a lot though so need some quiet time really decompress and to be allowed to settle in calmly to my new family with kindness and compassion on my clock …

• Dog-Friendly: I get along well with other dogs, though I’m a bit of a polite pushover at meal times. I’m happy to stand back and let the others eat first—no food squabbles from me!

My Secret: A Heart that Needs Time to Blossom 🌸

I spent my very early days in a private home before being moved to a less-than-ideal setup at around 10 weeks old. Because of this, I can be a little initially shy around new people.

• No Aggression, Just Shyness: It’s important to know there is absolutely no aggression in me. I just need a moment to assess the situation and figure out who is offering the good ear scratches. Give me a minute, and I’ll be your new best friend!

What I Need to Be Happy

My dream is a calm, patient family who understands that big changes take a little time.

• A forever home that will allow me to come out of my shell at my own pace.

• Plenty of gentle reassurance and positive experiences with new people.

• A space where I can truly relax and feel secure, perhaps with a dog, cat, or some really kind hoomans to show me the way … gently.

I’ve had a rough start, but I’ve got so much love ready to give. Just a little time, and I’ll be showering you with gentle devotion.
