Hi, my name is Ranger… and this is my story. 🧡

I’m approximately 8 years young (November 2025), and I’m a handsome, large boy at 28 kg. The volunteers found me in the government shelter in the summer of 2025 – just another abandoned hunting dog in Turkey, discarded when my body grew tired and slow. My body is covered in scars that tell the tale of a hard life lived, but please don’t let that fool you: I’m the sweetest, most gentle soul you could ever meet.

Most likely, I was a loyal companion to my owner for my entire life, until I was heartlessly left behind. But despite everything, I still absolutely adore people.

My Trademark Look 😍 (The Master of the Hopeful Gaze)

I’m a real charmer and known for my calm confidence. In the busy shelter, while other dogs might be doing the “pogo stick dance” for attention, I simply hang back and perfect my signature move: The Hopeful Gaze. I look at you with my trademark soft, loving eyes and wait patiently. I’m an expert at silent communication – I follow the volunteers everywhere, quietly hoping for a moment of affection, but I never make a fuss. Think of me as a very polite shadow.

🤗Fun Fact: Because I’m so gentle in asking, it can be easy to overlook me in a crowded enclosure. But trust me, my heart swells with happiness when someone kneels down for a good cuddle. I truly love everyone I meet – I’ll instantly give you my seal of approval!

A Man of Routine 🐾 (And His Precious Bowl)

The shelter life is chaotic, and frankly, I find it a bit overwhelming. I’m a very calm and gentle boy who loves routine. My idea of a perfect day is following my person around like a fluffy, four-legged apprentice.

My one rule (and I mean ONE): My food is mine. I will defend my bowl from other dogs like it’s a tiny, sacred treasure chest. But fear not, human! I am perfectly sweet and gentle towards people in all situations, including when they interfere with my dinner. You can touch my food, clean my teeth, or give me a belly rub -,just don’t let the other dogs near the kibble!

Ready for Adventure (if the nose approves!) 🏃‍♂️

While I am very calm and quiet inside the enclosure, outside is a different story – my nose takes over! You’ve probably already noticed my excellent hunting dog nose. Let me tell you, this nose works exceptionally well.

I’m also very confident on walks and not easily startled by crowds or noises. My perfect adopter will need to be prepared to work with me on my lead manners and prey drive. Consider it a fun challenge: teaching a wise, old dog a new trick!

My Dream Home 🏡
I am a sweet and easygoing dog who is definitely suitable for inexperienced adopters. I dream of escaping the chaos of the shelter for a peaceful home where I can live life at my own pace. I’m ready to put my paws up, snooze in the sun, and demand lots of cuddles using my famous Hopeful Gaze.

I need a calm and consistent family who will appreciate my affectionate, patient nature and who is willing to help me manage my powerful nose.
