🐾 Masha: The Brave Survivor with a Heart of Gold

Hello there! My name is Masha. I’m a medium-sized Mixed Breed lad with a story that shows just how strong a dog’s spirit can be. I haven’t had the easiest life, but I’ve spent every day since my rescue proving that I am ready to be a loyal, loving companion.

I am an easy-going, well-behaved boy who is a dream on the lead. While I live in a quiet village now, I’ve shown that I’m adaptable and patient. I might bark occasionally just to let you know I’d like some attention – after everything I’ve been through, I just want to know I’m noticed and loved!

💔 A Fight for Survival

My life began in a way no dog should experience. I was found all alone in a village in North Cyprus, literally battling for my life. I was struggling with severe hunger and a nasty infection; the kind people who found me weren’t sure I would make it.

But I’m a fighter! I moved into foster care and, later on, my friends discovered I had Leishmaniasis. It took some time to detect, but I have since received full treatment and have been under the watchful eye of a great veterinary clinic. I’ve never had to step foot in a cold shelter. I’ve been healing in a foster garden, waiting for the day someone picks me to be their “forever” boy.

✨ What You Need to Know About Me

Because I’ve spent my recovery time in a foster garden and at the clinic, I’m still learning about the “great indoors.”

* Indoor Living: I haven’t lived inside a house yet! My rescuers are hoping to get me some indoor practice before I travel, but my new family will need to be patient with me as I learn what a sofa is and how house-training works.

* Social Butterfly: I get along great with other dogs! I’m a social boy who enjoys the company of my own kind.

* Lead Legend: I am very good on the lead. Even though I haven’t spent time in busy cafes or shops yet, I handle my village walks like a total pro.

* Health Note: I do have something called Leishmaniasis. I know, it sounds scary – but please don’t scroll past me because of that. With simple daily medication (which the charity has promised to pay for all my life 💕), I can live a long, joyful life. In fact, one of our beloved rescues, Suzy, who was our very own charities Chairman’s rescue had Leishmaniasis too – and she lived until ‘nineteen years old’, happily chasing rooks in fields right until her final two weeks. Doesn’t that sound like a life worth living?

🏡 What I Need to Thrive

I am looking for a family who understands that I am a “work in progress” when it comes to home life, but a “finished masterpiece” when it comes to my temperament.

* Patience and Guidance: Since I’m new to indoor life, I need someone who will guide me with kindness as I adjust to the sights and sounds of a family home.

* A Helping Hand: My rescue has covered all my costs so far, but because my medical journey was a long one, any support or interest in my adoption helps more than you know!

* Quiet or Active: I’m happy in a quiet village setting, but with my easy-going nature, I’d likely thrive anywhere where I get regular walks and plenty of chin scratches.

I’ve survived the worst that life could throw at me, and now I’m just looking for the best: a family of my own. Could that be you?

With hope and happy tail-wags,

Masha x
