🐾 Meet Brufus: A Miracle in the Making

Hello there. My name is Brufus. I’m a young Pointer with a soulful gaze and a tail that, thanks to a lot of love, just won’t stop wagging. My journey to find you hasn’t been easy, but I’ve proven that I’m a fighter. I am leaving my past behind and looking straight toward a future with you and I think I’ll be ready to head home very soon!

I am currently being looked after by my wonderful “Auntie Sharon.” I’m a tall, leggy lad weighing about 28kg, and now that I’m safe, I’m putting on healthy weight and getting stronger every day.

✨ What You Need to Know About Me

I am making nothing but positive steps forward. My character has changed so much from the dog who was first rescued; my carers now describe me as a happy, goofy teenager!

• Life of the Party: I’ve been doing brilliantly living with other dogs! We all get along famously and I really enjoy the company. Because I’m young and life is finally good, I still get very excited especially when I see my dinner coming. As long as we are fed separately, I am a perfect gentleman with my doggy friends.

• The “Goofy” Teenager: I have truly found my personality. I’m loving, playful, and a bit of a clown. I’ve gone from a dog who couldn’t even stand up at the vets to a lad who is full of life and joy. 🤪

• The Cat Connection: I have shown I can be very good with cats, but I do get excited! If a cat runs, my “teenager” brain wants to join the chase. However, when I first arrived I met a confident cat who wasn’t scared of me, and we get on just fine. I’d be happy with a dog-savvy house cat who can stand their ground!

• From “Mute” to “Let’s Go!”: When I first arrived, I was so terrified I couldn’t even walk on a lead. But now? I walk lovely on the lead and get so excited when it’s time to head out for an adventure.

• Gentle with Everyone: I have met Sharon’s grandkids and I am totally accepting and gentle with them. I’m a real “all-rounder” who just wants to be your loyal companion.

💔 A Sensitive Soul

Because of what I’ve been through, I can still be a little jumpy if someone moves too quickly toward me. I might “hit the floor” out of habit, but I am making progress every single day. I just need a family who will move at my pace and show me that life is all about treats and head scratches now.

🏡 What I Need to Thrive

I’m looking for a home that feels like a sanctuary but has a bit of “dog-savvy” guidance.

• Knowledgeable Owners: I need a family who understands young dog behaviour and can help me manage my excitement levels, especially around meal times.

• Company: I’ve realised I love having friends! I’d enjoy a home with another dog, ideally a submissive or older friend who can keep my goofy energy in check.

• A Kind Environment: I’m currently being “man-tested” to make sure I’m comfortable with everyone, but so far, I’ve shown nothing but love for every person I meet.

I’ve survived the unthinkable, and now I’m ready to live the dream. Will you be the one to show me that the best is yet to come?
