Meet Cathy: A Survivor Searching for Love 🐾

Hello there. My name is Cathy, and I’m here to tell you a little about myself in the hope that you might open your heart and home to a dog like me.

I haven’t had the easiest start to life. I was kept locked away and used for breeding, never knowing the gentle touch of a kind hand or the joy of running freely in the sunshine. But despite everything, my heart remains full of hope. I’ve overheard the stories of other dogs who’ve left this place for loving homes, with cozy sofas, warm blankets, and humans who make them feel like they truly belong. I dream of that every night – could it be with you?

I’m a gentle soul who’s just starting to discover what life outside those walls can be. New sights and sounds can be a little overwhelming, but with a patient and kind human by my side, I know I’ll learn to trust the world. Walks are a new experience for me, and while I may not be racing ahead, I’ll stick close to you, soaking in the comfort of having someone who cares.

I’ve heard some humans say I have “eyes that speak.” They’re soft and soulful, and if you look into them, you’ll see a dog who just wants to be loved for who she is.

I get along well with other dogs, especially ones who are calm and friendly like me. I’d be so happy to have a furry sibling who could show me the ropes of what it means to be part of a family. Cats? I’m not too sure about them yet, but with the right introductions, I think we could find our rhythm.

You should know that I’m not looking for adventure or excitement. What I dream of is peace, security, and a life filled with small, wonderful moments – curling up by your feet, snoozing on a soft sofa, or feeling the sun warm my fur in a safe garden. I’m learning how to play, but right now, I’m more interested in cuddles and gentle reassurance.

At night, I love to curl up in a cozy spot where I can feel safe. And when you’re near, my tail can’t help but wag – even after everything, it still remembers how to.

Important Information

My tests show that I have had mild exposure to Leishmaniasis, therefore I am on preventative medication for a while. It sounds scary, I know, but here’s the thing: I don’t have any symptoms, and I’m as healthy and full of love as any other dog!

PRS covers all my treatment costs, and will also cover my next bloods which will highly likely come up clear so all I need is someone to look past the name and see the love in my heart. I’m ready to bring so much joy to your life—I just need a chance. ❤️
