❤️🐾 Hello… My name is Dotty 🐾
And this is my story… from my heart to yours.
I am a tiny, pocket-sized English Pointer girl, roughly 5 years old, and weighing just a delicate 12kg. How a sweet, placid girl like me and perhaps my previous pups ended up dumped, abandoned, and forgotten in a Spanish municipal perrera (government shelter) is a mystery that breaks the heart. But I don’t look back with bitterness; I only look forward with hope.
I spent my days waiting patiently in the Mazarron perrera, just hoping a kind face would notice me. Through it all, my gentle spirit never broke. When the wonderful rescue team saved me, I didn’t have a microchip or a history to my name, but I had a heart full of love ready to give to anyone who would offer me a chance.
My Journey & Foster Update 🇪🇸
My real life began on August 5th, when I walked out of those heavy doors and into the loving hands of my foster hero family, Lynne and Les.
The moment I arrived, I knew I was safe. I went straight out into the garden, had a little sniff around, and immediately found myself a big, comfy bed to curl up in. I was a bit wiffy from my time at the shelter, so my foster humans gave me a warm bath. I stood so quietly and let them lather me up and rinse me off. I think I secretly loved every second of being pampered! Now I smell lovely and clean.
Living in a home comes so naturally to me. I slept soundly all through my very first night and woke up with a waggy tail. I am such a placid, calm girl around the house (except, perhaps, when someone opens a tuna sandwich which my foster human kindly shared with me!). I’ve also proven to be quite a clever little lady: when my foster dad told me I was tired and to go rest, I walked straight into the bedroom and tucked myself into bed!
🥰 Family & Friends
Wonderful with People: I am a gentle, sweet-natured soul who adores human company. My foster family calls my foster dad the “Pied Piper” because all the animals follow him, and I am certainly no exception I trot right behind him wherever he goes! I even love a nice elbow massage with special cream to keep me soft and comfortable.
Dog Friendly: I get along brilliantly with other dogs. I fitted straight in with my foster brothers and sisters without a single fuss. I walk so nicely on the lead without pulling, happily trotting along with the whole “crew” on group walks with a wagging tail.
Cat Friendly: I have been tested with the resident cats in my foster home and I am completely relaxed and good with them. I share my space peacefully with both canine and feline friends alike.
Food & Treats: I have a great little appetite! I love to stay on high alert in the kitchen just in case a scrap of chicken accidentally falls from the counter, and I’ve even discovered a secret fondness for a little splash of goat’s milk with my meals!
My Ideal Home: Because of my easygoing, compact, “pocket Pointer” size and serene nature, I would suit almost any loving home whether you are a family, a couple, or a calm household looking for a gentle shadow to join you on daily walks and snuggle up for afternoon snoozes.
I may have a few missing bottom teeth and worn elbows from my past, but those are just tiny badges of resilience. My spay operation is all done, my scar is healing beautifully, and my heart is completely ready to belong to someone forever.
Could you be the forever family I’ve been waiting for?
Love always, Dotty 💕
