Well hello there! 👋🏻 My name is Hugo, and I am a very handsome young chap with a rather important question…

Could YOU be my forever family? 🐾

Let me tell you a little bit about me…

I came into the world and, when I was five months old, a lovely lady called Tracey chose me from a UK breeder and brought me home. She has cared for me very much and I know just how loved I am. ❤️

But sometimes, hooman life doesn’t quite go according to plan.

Tracey’s work contract has had to increase, and she simply cannot risk losing her job. This means that, although she loves me very much, I am now having to spend lots and lots of hours on my own.

And Tracey knows something very important…

That’s just not fair on a young Pointer boy like me. 💙

So, with a very heavy heart, she has reached out to Pointer Rescue Service and asked them to help me find a wonderful new family where I can have all the exercise, company, fun and love that a young Pointer like me truly deserves.

My very important forever-home wish…

The lovely PRS people have had a good think about what would make me happiest, and they say that I really need a home where someone works from home, or where I won’t be left on my own for very long.

You see, I’ve already had to cope with my lovely Tracey having to spend more time away working, and the whole point of finding me a new home is to make sure I don’t simply end up spending lots of hours alone all over again.

I’m looking for people who have time for me — people who can include me in their everyday life, give me plenty of exercise and stimulation, and help me feel like I’m an important part of the family.

I’m not asking for a human who never leaves the house…

I just need a family whose lifestyle means I’m not regularly left alone for long stretches of the day.

And honestly, I think I’m excellent company. Just ask me.

🐱 About my feline roommates…

I currently live with two cats, and we all manage perfectly well together in the house. I’m absolutely fine with them indoors.

BUT…

When those little furry creatures suddenly start running around the garden, something happens to my Pointer brain.

👀 CAT RUNNING.

🐾 HUGO SEE CAT.

🧠 HUGO THINKS: THIS MUST BE A GAME.

And off I go!

I don’t mean any harm — I just think they have suddenly volunteered themselves for Hugo’s Garden Chase & Play Club.

So my new family would need to understand that I may want to chase a running cat outdoors, and careful supervision and management would be important.

What I’m looking for…

I’m a young boy, so I’m looking for a family who understands that Pointers come with four legs, a big heart and a LOT of energy!

I need plenty of exercise, adventures, stimulation and, most importantly, lots of time with my people.

I’m looking for my forever people — the ones who will take me on lovely walks, let me sniff ALL the important smells, give me adventures to enjoy, and then let me curl up somewhere on the cosy sofa afterwards.

Because underneath all those long legs and that gorgeous Pointer nose is simply a boy who wants to belong. 💙

 And apparently I come with a… what?!

Oh, and apparently I come with something called a “neutering agreement.”

I have absolutely NO idea what that long word means.

I asked the hoomans if it was a new kind of dog biscuit.

Apparently not.

I then asked if it was something I could chase.

Also apparently not.

So I’ve decided it’s probably one of those very boring hooman things that the nice people at Pointer Rescue will explain to my future family.

I know there is a very special family out there for me.

A family who understands my Pointer ways.

A family who has time for me.

A family who can offer me the companionship I need.

A family who will give me the exercise, patience, fun and love I deserve.

And a family who will look at my hopeful eyes and think…

“Yep. That’s our Hugo.” 🥹💙
