🦆 Oscar: The Handsome Country Gentleman & Whistle Wonder

Hello there! My name is Oscar. I’m a sophisticated, 6-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a sleek docked tail and a heart full of loyalty. I’ve been told I’m quite the looker, and I certainly enjoy the compliments I get when I’m out and about!

I’m a classic GSP – intelligent, high-energy, and I have a “nose” for adventure. If you’re looking for a dog who is already well-schooled, loves a routine, and is ready to be your right-hand wing man, I might just be the one for you.

💔 My Journey So Far…

Before I was rescued, I lived in a bit of a “chaotic” home, but I was saved by a kind trainer who knew I deserved a better life. For the last few months, I’ve lived with a lovely couple who have worked wonders with me. They’ve helped me settle into a perfect routine and even helped me work through my worries about being left alone.

I am an incredibly loyal boy who bonds very strongly with my hoomans. Because I’m so devoted, I can sometimes be a bit over-protective of my “pack” or my property, especially when I’m on a lead or when visitors arrive at the door. My current owners have put in so much work, but they feel I would be best suited to an environment where my protective instincts are understood by an experienced GSP owner who can keep me focused and calm.

✨ The Real Me: A Whistle-Stop Pro!

I am a very well-behaved lad who really knows my stuff! I’ve been top of the class in my training:

• Whistle Master: I’ll sit, wait, and even eat my dinner to the sound of a whistle! My recall is fantastic (up to 200 yards!), though if I’m on the scent of a pheasant or a deer, you might need a very tasty Gravybone to bring me back to earth!

• The Perfect Pub Guest: I’m very “chilled” in shops and cafes. I love the attention I get from people while I’m relaxing under the table—I’ve been told I’m a real star in public!

• Travel Log: I absolutely love the car. In fact, sometimes I love it so much I don’t want to get out! I’m the pawfect companion for long road trips and country outings.

• Fitness Fanatic: I’m extremely fit and healthy. I love my morning jogs.

🏡 What I Need to Thrive

I’m looking for a “Pointer-pro” home in a rural setting where I can let my nose lead the way across open fields and woodlands.

• A Confident Leader: I walk beautifully to heel off-lead, but I can be a bit “reactive” to other dogs when I’m on a lead in busy areas. I need someone who can keep me moving and confident.

• A Country Life: I have a strong hunt drive (it’s in my DNA!), so I need plenty of space to run and explore safely away from the hustle and bustle.

• Consistent Routine: I thrive on my whistle commands and my daily structure. I’d love a family who will keep up my training and reward my hard work with plenty of affection and the occasional Gravybone.

• A Quiet Haven: Since I take my job as a guardian seriously, I’d love a home that isn’t too busy with constant visitors, so I can truly relax and just be a “happy GSP boy.”
