If you’re looking for a dog with presence, grace, and a whole lot of love to give, you’ve found him! I’m a tall, handsome lad who is full of affection, sensitive to the world around me, and ready to find my true forever home.

I’ve spent the last 5 months in a UK foster home settling into family life. While my previous foster family cared for me deeply, unforeseen personal circumstances mean I’m back on the search for my permanent sanctuary. I am currently spending some quiet time with our charity secretary while I wait for the right match to come along.

What Makes Me Special?

• Effortless Movement: I might be a tall, leggy boy, but I’ve always had a “beautiful walk” where I floatingly glide along. I’m a majestic mover who naturally walks gently on the lead.
• Wonderfully Affectionate: I am a deeply loving soul who thrives on human companionship. I adore cuddles, soothers, and natural chew treats (like long-lasting ostrich bones!) that help me relax and unwind alongside my humans.
• Superb Training Progress: I’ve been working with a specialized reactive walker and have made massive strides! I used to get startled by urban sounds and passing cars, but with patient, early morning walks and quiet visits to secure fields, I’m gaining confidence every day.
• A Garden Potterer: I’ve learned to love potter-time in the garden, soaking up the fresh air and settling quietly on my own terms.

The Ideal Match

I am looking for a calm, structured home that understands the sensitive Pointer soul and can give me the gentle routine I need to thrive.

• A Calm, Low-Stimulation Environment: Like many rescue dogs with mysterious pasts, fast-paced or busy environments can leave me feeling a bit overwhelmed and anxious. I thrive on routine, natural calmer and soothers, and a relaxed home atmosphere. A household with experience in managing dog sensory anxiety through a predictable lifestyle will help my gentle nature shine.
• Patience with Separation: I am a true companion dog who forms deep bonds with my people. I have experienced some separation anxiety in the past as I thrive on human presence, so my new family will need to build up any time left alone very slowly and gently.
• A Steady Doggy Companion: I could happily share my home with another resident dog—preferably a calm, older, and docile female who can offer a soothing influence and show me the ropes.
• Joint & Health Awareness: I have a very mild, manageable case of hip dysplasia. I don’t require surgery, but I’ll benefit from someone familiar with gentle joint care, low-impact exercise (like hydrotherapy or physiotherapy), and keeping me on a healthy diet to build up my ideal weight.

I’m a sensitive, big-hearted lad who just needs a calm harbor and a family to say, “You’re home now, Riley.”
