🐾 Meet Vernon: The Musical Soul Ready for His Final Act! 🐾

“Bonjour! My name is Vernon. I’ve had a bit of a journey lately, but I have finally landed in a wonderful foster home in Swindon where I’m learning what it truly means to be a beloved family dog.

I am a smart, sensitive soul who has discovered two great loves in life: sofa snuggles and, surprisingly, brass instruments! My foster brothers play the trumpet, and I’ve proven to be a very calm, sophisticated listener. When I’m not enjoying a private concert, you’ll likely find me practicing my ‘lap-dog’ skills – I’m a 20kg space-invader who just wants to be close to my humans.”

The Reset & The Real Me: In the past, I struggled in a placement that wasn’t quite right for me. I arrived at my new foster home with some defensive walls up. Because I didn’t know I was safe, a sudden hand could make me snap out of a reflex to protect myself.

However, my foster mum, Bénédicte, has shown me that trust is a beautiful thing. With her “firm but calm” French leadership, those old habits are vanishing. I’ve realized that hands are for head-scratches and that I don’t need to be on guard anymore. I am a docile, willing student who just needed someone to understand my language.

Life with the “Grand Master”: I currently live with a handsome Pointer named Buddy. He is my “Grand Master” and role model. While I still think pulling his ears is a top-tier game, he’s teaching me the rules of the house. I would thrive in a home with another steady, confident dog who can continue showing me how to be a gentleman.

The Ideal Match: I’m looking for an owner who isn’t a novice—someone who understands that trust is built through consistency and kind guidance.

• Active & Bright: I have a real zest for life! I love my walks on my Halti and I’m very receptive to training. I’m a keen learner who wants to please.

• A “Presence” Home: I crave connection. Whether it’s the 14-year-old in the house or the builders visiting, I love everyone. I need a family who will include me in their daily adventures.

• Patience & Love: I’ve come so far in just one week. I need a family who sees the loyal, affectionate boy beneath the old nerves and is ready to keep my “zoomies” and my heart going strong.

I am a truly sociable, devoted lad who just needed the right environment to shine. I’m already house-trained, car-cage trained, and ready to find my forever rhythm.
