Oh hey hoomans… I’m Walter.

If you’d met me a while ago, you might have heard me before you saw me. I used to think I had to tell the whole world how I felt, especially on the lead. But guess what? I’ve been finding my brave, and it turns out I’m actually not a barker at all! I’ve realized the world isn’t quite as scary as I thought.

You see, I was thrown into a Spanish pound as a pup confused, scared, and completely alone. No cuddles, no guidance, no chance. Just cold concrete and chaos. I grew up not really knowing how to be a “dog.” I never learned the basics, and because I was so unsure, I used to get a bit over-excited and mouthy.

But things are changing. I’m proving to be a full-of-life, excitable, and incredibly loving lad. While I’m a strong boy, I’ve learned how to settle down and find my focus once we’re out on a walk. I’m finding my feet, getting along with most other dogs, and showing everyone that I would make the most incredible companion.

What I’m looking for:

• An experienced home: Someone who understands that I’m a work in progress. If you know and love German Wirehaired Pointers and our quirky brilliance, we’ll be best friends in no time!

• Patience and Structure: I still need help learning how to be gentle when I get excited, but I’m learning fast.

• No Cats: Like many of us with my background, I’m much better off in a feline-free zone.

• A “Before and After” Partner: I need a family that believes in second chances and wants to see me continue to blossom.
