Blue

I never thought I’d be writing something like this. My name is Blue and, well… I’m a good girl. I really am. I didn’t chew the furniture, I didn’t growl or nip, and I tried so hard to make everyone happy. But one day, the people I thought were my forever family asked someone else to look after me—just for a little while, they said—because my companion dog wasn’t well.

So I went, wagging my tail, thinking I’d be back home soon.

But I never went home.

They told the nice lady looking after me that they didn’t want me anymore. Just like that. No explanation. No goodbye. No second chance. I hadn’t done anything wrong… and I still don’t understand why.

It’s left the kind person who stepped in to help in a really difficult position, and now I’m hoping with all my heart that someone out there will see me and say, “She belongs with us.”

I’m young, still learning, still hoping. I’m a Collie x Spaniel (though I look a bit like a mini Pointer with my dappled coat and gentle eyes). I adore long walks, I have lovely recall, and I really love playing with other dogs. I’ve lived with other dogs, cats, even chickens—and I get on well with everyone. Sometimes I bark a little when I meet someone new… but it’s just nerves, I promise. I settle quickly once I know you’re kind.

People say I’m sweet, clever, and full of fun. I say… I’m just looking for someone to love.

I don’t mind being left for a bit—I’ll wait for you patiently. I’m affectionate, cuddly, and gentle. I just want someone who won’t give up on me this time.

I am microchipped, just waiting to be registered to someone who really means forever.

If you’ve got space in your heart (and maybe a comfy spot on the sofa), I’d really love to be your girl.
