Hello… I’m Amiable Argo 🐾

“Some say I’m a ‘child of the wind’- pure elegance, built for adventure, and ready for the love of a lifetime.”

At seven years old, I’m living proof that hope can survive even the darkest places. For years, I knew only cold concrete, freezing winters, and terrible hunger. I was kept in a dark, lonely place where food was scarce, and I had to fight just to stay alive. By the time human angels found me and my four companions, I was nothing more than a frail skeleton, so exhausted that I had almost given up on the world entirely.

But angels didn’t give up on me.

They brought me to the safety of the shelter in Gubbio, where gentle hands fed me, cared for my sore skin, and showed me that human touch could actually mean kindness. Look at me now! I’ve put on weight, my shiny coat has grown back, and beneath all that past heartache, a happy, gentle boy has blossomed. I don’t hold any grudges about my past. My heart is just bursting with love, and I have so many tail-wags saved up just for you.

My Little Quirks & Daily Joy

I’m currently sharing shelter life with many other dogs, so while my carers give me all the love they can, what I dream of most is having a person of my very own to snuggle.

• A Master Digger! 😂 If you need a helper in the garden, I’m your boy! Digging in the dirt is my absolute favorite sport – it’s how I show pure, unbridled joy when I’m out playing.

• The Great Outdoors: I am a classic, athletic English Pointer who adores nature. Walking through quiet woods, sniffing through riverbanks, and feeling the fresh air on my face will make my soul sing. I’m definitely not a couch potato. I’d love to be your adventure partner!

• Lead Adventures: A lead is my golden ticket to fun! Most days I walk like a total prince right by your side. On other days, my inquisitive Pointer nose takes over and I decide I’d rather explore in my own charming, cheeky way.

• Peace at Mealtimes: Because I was deprived of food for so many years, food is very precious to me and I can be protective of my bowl. All I need is a calm, quiet spot where I can eat in peace and know that I will never, ever be hungry again.

My Dream Home

• Your Devoted Shadow: I am sweet-natured to my very core and have a heart that is so much bigger than my 20kg frame.

• Dog Companionship: While I am a total gentleman with calm female dogs, shelter life and my past mean I am uncomfortable around other male dogs. To give me the gentlest start, I’d be happiest as your only pet initially, or alongside a quiet resident sister. Due to my past as a working dog, no cats for me, please.

• A Soft Place to Fall: I’ve had enough cold concrete to last a hundred lifetimes. I don’t just want a garden. I want a warm bed right next to yours, soft cushions, and to be an adored part of your family.

I’ve survived the unthinkable, but my spirit couldn’t be broken. I’m healthy and just waiting for that one special person to see my story and say, “Argo, your long wait is over.”

I’ll be the one waiting by the door with a wagging tail, resting my head on your knee after a long walk, and reminding you every single day that second chances create the deepest bonds of all.

So… shall we start our forever journey together?
