💙 Dana: The Elegant, Gentle Lady Starting Her “Good Life”

Hi, my name is Dana. I am a gentle lady who has finally left a long, difficult past behind to embrace a future filled with warmth and love. For years, I was seen only for my “usefulness,” but today, I am learning what it feels like to be cherished just for being me.

I am a sensitive soul who has been through a lot, but I am finally safe, warm, and discovering that the world is a much friendlier place than I ever imagined.

🏠 Latest Update: Two Weeks of Transformation

I have been at Noah’s sanctuary for two weeks now, and oh, how my world has changed! When I first arrived, I was heartbreakingly thin, shivering, and unsure if I could trust anyone. But with two weeks of “good nosh” and endless TLC, I am officially coming out of my shell!

I’ve been gaining much-needed weight and, more importantly, I’m becoming braver every single day. I’m learning that humans aren’t “bad or nasty”—in fact, I’ve decided they are actually quite wonderful for head scratches and treats. I still wear my cozy “Crimbo jumper,” but now I wear it with a little more pep in my step.

🐾 Social Butterfly in the Making

The “working” days are over, and the “socialite” days have begun! I’ve been busy making new friends and proving what a social girl I truly am.

• Walking Buddy: I’ve enjoyed gentle walkies with my friends Freya and Ted without a single worry.

• Field Frolics: I’ve been roaming freely in the field with Ted and Billie. I’m not bothered by other dogs at all; I find their company very comforting.

• A Roommate Soon? Because I’m such a social soul, the team is even looking at finding me a kennel mate so I don’t have to be alone. I really do have a lot of love to give, both to humans and my fellow canines.

💔 My Story So Far…

For much of my life (I’m about 6.5 years old), I belonged to a hunter. When I was deemed “no longer of use” because I was hunt-shy, I faced a frightening future. Whether I was used for hunting or for breeding, I was ultimately treated as disposable.

Thankfully, kind hearts intervened. I am no longer a tool; I am a survivor who is rediscovering her dignity one “gentle pointer paw shake” at a time.

✨ The Real Me: Gentle, Sensitive, and Dignified

I carry myself with a quiet grace. While I am still settling in, my true personality is finally shining through the clouds.

• A Trusting Heart: I respond beautifully to kindness. Now that I know I’m safe, I am leaning into the hands that feed and pet me with a newfound confidence.

• Quiet Elegance: I’m not looking for high-intensity work anymore. I want a life of soft beds, peaceful afternoons, and friendly companions.

• Resilient Spirit: I have moved from “surviving” to “thriving.” I am taking life step-by-step, moving toward a future where I can truly flourish.

🏡 What I Need to Thrive

I am looking for a calm, supportive home where I can be a beloved family member.

• Continued Care: I’ll need a family who will keep up my nutrition to get me back to my full, healthy weight.

• A Soft Landing: My ideal home is a peaceful environment with a consistent routine and a very soft bed.

• Friends Welcome: Since I am so good with other dogs like Ted and Billie, I would likely do well in a home with other calm canine residents.

• Cat Status: My team hasn’t had the chance yet to assess how I feel about feline friends.
