Hello, my name is Kardy.

I’m not sure when my life stopped being mine — maybe it was the day my puppies were taken from me… or maybe it was the day I was thrown away like I didn’t matter at all. I tried to be brave, but when the government workers came and dragged me to the pound, my heart shattered into pieces.

The pound is not a place for gentle souls like me. It’s loud, cold, and terrifying. Every day I watch as the light goes out in the eyes of the dogs around me — they give up. They stop hoping.
But not me.
Not yet.
I still believe someone, somewhere, will see me… will choose me.

I had a friend here once — his name was Leonard and he is also on this site. He needed help badly, and when the sanctuary had only one space, he was chosen. He got his miracle. I watched him leave, and even though my heart ached, I wagged my tail for him.
Because if miracles are real for Leonard, maybe… just maybe… one is real for me too.

Liz — my angel — she keeps coming back to see me. She tells me I’m special. She tells me to hold on. She says I’m calm and gentle, that I’m good with other dogs, that I walk so nicely on my lead even though my legs tremble sometimes from fear when I return back to the pound again after Liz takes me back. She says she can even test me with cats if someone wants to know. She believes in me, even when the world forgot me.

Since coming here, I’ve been spayed, I’ve had all my blood tests done (I’m healthy, Liz said proudly!), and I will be checked again before I’m ready to travel.

All I need now is a foster home… or a forever home… somewhere safe, somewhere kind in the UK.

I promise — I’m still holding on. But it’s hard. It’s so hard.

I fall asleep each night dreaming of a soft bed, of gentle hands, of not being afraid anymore.
Dreaming that someone, somewhere, will be my rescue story.

Please… don’t let me be another soul that disappears behind these cold, metal bars.
Please be my miracle.
