Meet Jacob – The Little Warrior with a Big Heart!
Hey there, lovely hoomans! My name is Jacob, but you can call me Jake, Jakey, or His Royal Fluffiness (I’m not picky, as long as you say it in a loving voice).
Now, I’ve got a bit of a story—one of those heart-tugging, “somebody grab the tissues” kind of stories. I was found all alone, abandoned and scared, and worst of all, I had been shot. Yep, you read that right. My poor little leg took a few hits, and while the vets say some of those pesky pellet fragments will stay with me forever, they don’t cause me pain, and trust me, they haven’t slowed me down one bit! I still zoom around like a tiny tornado when I get the zoomies (which is often).
Because of everything I’ve been through, I need a very special home—one where I can be the center of attention. I’m best as an only dog because, well, I have some strong opinions about sharing food (spoiler alert: I don’t like it). I just can’t help but think every meal might be my last, so I get a little… intense when food is involved but not with hoomans, just in a close space if there is another dog around. But hey, I’m working on it, and with a patient and loving hooman by my side, I know I can improve!
I love people—like, REALLY love people. Attention? Affection? Belly rubs? Yes, please! I’ll take all the love you’ve got and then some. But I do get anxious sometimes, and I need a home with someone who understands that I’ve been through a lot. If you have experience with dogs like me, even better! Just think of it as helping me become the best version of myself—kind of like a makeover, but for my heart and soul.
Now, before you think I’m all seriousness and sad backstories, let me tell you this—I am super skilled. I have mastered the art of the “fetching ball”, my tail wags so hard I almost take off like a helicopter, and I’ve been told I am a fun little chap when I’m excited. Life with me will never be boring, I can promise you that!

This is where my story tugs on the heartstrings a little. I have something called Leishmaniasis. But it is very low level Leish! It sounds scary, I know, but here’s the thing: I don’t have any symptoms, and I’m as healthy and full of love as any other dog!
The sad part? People often overlook me because of my diagnosis, and that breaks my heart. I’ve heard about a pointer like me with Leishmaniasis who’s 17 years old who shares is life with our charity Chairman! He’s been loved and cared for his whole life, proving dogs like us deserve a chance too.
PRS covers all my treatment costs, so all I need is someone to look past the name and see the love in my heart. I’m ready to bring so much joy to your life—I just need a chance. ❤️
