Hi there, sweet soul. My name’s Jacob—but my friends call me Jake, Jakey, or even His Royal Fluffiness (as long as it’s said with love, I’ll answer to anything).

I know you’re probably scrolling past dozens of faces, but if you’ve found your way to mine… maybe it’s meant to be. Because I’m not just another rescue dog. I’m a fighter. A survivor. A walking, wagging miracle.

You see, my story isn’t an easy one. I was abandoned—left to fend for myself, terrified and alone. But worse, someone hurt me in the cruelest way. I was shot. Not once, but several times. The pain was real. My little leg still carries the metal fragments that tell the story of what I went through. But here’s the thing: I’m still here. And I still love. Isn’t that kind of amazing?

Despite the scars—inside and out—I haven’t lost my spark. In fact, I still zoom around with joy, especially when the zoomies hit. Life didn’t break me… it just made me more grateful for every little kindness.

I need a special home. One with patience, gentleness, and room in their heart for a dog who’s been through the worst and is still learning to trust that the best is yet to come. I’ll do best as the only dog in your life—I’m still learning that food doesn’t need to be fought for, and mealtime with other pups makes me nervous. But with humans? Oh, I melt. I live for affection. I crave belly rubs, snuggles, and loving words whispered into my soft ears. I just want to feel safe. To be somebody’s.

I may have been passed over again and again, but I know I’m worthy of love. I’m goofy, I’m affectionate, and I’m so eager to please. My rescue family believes in me, and I just need one special person to believe in me too. Could that be you?
