Meet Olive – A Little Girl with a Big Heart and a Very Bright Future! 🫒❤️
Hello everyone! It’s me… Olive! 🐾
Well, technically, I wasn’t called Olive until my lovely new Mum in the UK decided that was the perfect name for me. And do you know what? I rather like it! Apparently, Olive suits me beautifully. My new Mum is also a previous PRS adopter, so I’m told I’m joining a very special family who already knows just how wonderful rescue dogs can be. I think I’ve landed on my paws! ta dahhh
But before I tell you all about my exciting new adventure, perhaps I should tell you a little bit about how I got here.
My story started in Pilio, Greece, where I was abandoned. I don’t really understand why. I hadn’t done anything wrong. I was just a little rescue trying to find my way in a big, confusing world. Sadly, the streets can be a very frightening place, especially when you’re a smaller Pointer like me and don’t always find it easy to stand up for yourself.
I discovered the hard way that not all humans are kind. Some can be terribly unkind and cruel, and I had to learn to be careful, even when all I really wanted was a little love and kindness.
Thankfully, my story wasn’t going to end there.
I was discovered and taken into the care of our wonderful Auntie Kevi in Athens. She works tirelessly alongside The Pointer Rescue Service, helping to save special souls like me. I don’t think she ever stops! She must have the biggest heart in Greece, although I suspect she could probably do with a holiday and a very large cup of tea or coffee!
Auntie Kevi told the PRS Adoption Coordinator all about me, and somehow, somewhere, the most wonderful thing happened. PRS found me a home!
And not just any home… MY home!
My new Mum is waiting for me here in the UK, and apparently, she is going to love me lots and spoil me quite a bit. Now, I’m not entirely sure what ‘being spoiled’ involves, but I’ve heard excellent things. Comfy beds? Cuddles? Treats? Being told I’m a beautiful girl approximately 47 times a day? I could definitely get used to that!
As for my personality, well, I’m an affectionate, playful and loving little girl. I have so much love to give, and I can’t wait to discover all the lovely things that a proper home has to offer.
I promise I’ll try my very best to be the most loyal little companion I can possibly be. I’ll learn my new routines, find my favourite sleeping spots, master the art of looking ridiculously cute when I want a treat (I suspect I may already have this particular skill), and make sure my Mum never has to wonder whether she is loved.
Because she will be. Very, very much.
I might be a little dog, but I have a big heart, and I think we’re going to make a rather wonderful team.
To everyone who helped me along the way, from the people who found me in Greece, to Auntie Kevi, and everyone at PRS who helped make this happen, thank you. You may have changed the course of my little life, but I promise I’ll make every bit of that love count.
And to my new Mum… get ready! Your little Olive is on her way, and I have a feeling we’re going to have a lot of adventures together.
I’ve gone from being a little lost olive on the streets of Greece to being someone’s very precious Olive in the UK.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a new life to get started… and apparently, there’s a sofa with my name on it!
Lots of love and very enthusiastic tail wags,
Olive🫒
